Deer in Our Headlights

Well on the way home from prayer meeting tonight we hit a deer with our van, or actually the deer ran into us. It was like it just ran right into the side of the van. It dented in the driver side passenger door; and also dented a place on the hood and cracked the headlight. It is drivable and both doors do open and close. It could have been much worse; so we are thankful. We couldn't really assess the damage totally as it was dark out then, so it was hard to tell totally how extensive it is; we will do that in the daylight. We had the police come so we could have it reported officially; plus the deer was in the middle of the lane of traffic, and had to be moved off the road. Unfortunately the deer of course passed away. I did feel sorry for it. So that was our Wednesday night adventure, ha!
