Time is flying by!

I just can't believe how quickly Christmas always comes. Just one more week and my husbands family will be here; to celebrate with us. We are getting excited.

Well we have had a busy week and an eventful one as well. On Monday my youngest daughter found out that she will be receiving a full tuition scholarship to OCU. We are so excited. She has worked hard to keep her grades up and applied early, as they only give 10 and they decide early. This will be for next fall. It applies to all four years; so how happy we are and so pleased with her accomplishment.

Also my husband was offered a new position at his job; which he is a Captain at our local fire department. Well he has been offered and has accepted the Division Chief in charge of training. This will be a great job for him, and he will do really well at it. I am so proud of him. He is a great firefighter, and loves his job. Now he will be working 5 days a week, daytime hours (8). He has been doing 24 hour shifts; so this will be an adjustment for all of us, as we had gotten used to the other way of life, and even though it is not normal, it was normal for us. He had been doing that for 8 years. But this will be a great thing to get used to again. Having him home very night will be wonderful. Plus he will be home on weekends and holidays. We will love that. Of course he will still help out with fires and big emergencies; so I'm sure there will still be some nights and weekends; but for the most part it will just be weekdays.
